Welcome to the IIT VoIP Lab

The VoIP Lab at IIT Rice Campus is a venue where industry and academia collaborate in research, development and test activities that advance the goals of both. Our test beds include IMS, SIPConnect, SIP Peering, and IP PBX. Our "Voice over IIT" service provides, video calling, conferencing and many other services to the IIT-CPD community. The VoIP appliances of many of our industry sponsors and collaborators are added to this network for test under real-world conditions.

IITVoIPLab

This is a teaching lab where students develop hands-on expertise analyzing the operation and performance of VoIP networks. Lab assignments are an integral part of our VoIP and telecom courses. Weekly assignments support a detailed understanding of VoIP protocols. Semester-long projects allow the student teams to develop new applications and to install, configure and document new services and test beds.
